On Friday, the Academy of St. James students' and staff were lucky enough to start Mission Sunday with a morning prayer from Father Joe who is a Maryknoll Missionary. He taught us all about his missions and places he has been. It was remarkable to listen to all of his wisdom!
Yesterday Totowa's Fire Department came to ASJM to talk about fire safety. during Fire Safety Month. They showed PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade all their gear and apparatus that helps them keep us safe! We didn't think we could have had a better time then they gave every student a fire hat, coloring book and pencils! Thank you Totowa Fire Department!

Field Day was an amazing time for The Academy of St. James' students in grades 1 - 7. They had 7 different games that they competed in that allowed each student to excel! Thank you Mr. Papaccio for planning and setting everything up and being in charge of it!
We are so proud of our graduating Pre-K 4 class! We are so excited to see all of your growth, and accomplishments! Thank you to all of our wonderful families for a fantastic year. Your Pre-K teachers love you to the moon and back. We are so blessed to work with you.
Kindergarten Moving up was a great success! The kids worked so hard and we could not be more proud of them! Congratulations and see you guys in FIRST GRADE!

The Serna Family from Pre-K sponsored a "Graduation and Moving -Up Day of FUN!" The Pre-K and Kindergarten students met Mario and Luigi, danced, got their face painted, played with balloon animals, and ate pizza. It was an amazing morning! Thank you!
The students had Career Day on Friday at ASJM sponsored by the Guidance Department, especially Miss Ariel. Students listened to an Engineer, K-9 Police Lt., Paterson Police Officer, Dancer, Registered Nurse, and Cosmetologist. The students got a good glimpse into some careers they could go into and what it takes to get into those fields.
Yesterday, The Academy of St. James' Second Grade crowned our Heavenly Mother Mary in front of St. James Church. It was a special event where all the students came together to watch. We sang songs, prayed the rosary, and finally crowned Mary after mass. It is a special day we won't forget!
